When I first made the decision to become a Christian and attend church every week, I had no idea that it was possible to communicate with God. I knew that in praying to God I was speaking to God, and I had faith to believe God heard my prayers. But would God answer my prayers? I just hoped God would answer them, but I never expected God to communicate directly with me.
In my book, This is The Meaning of Life. Chapter 2. The Power and Presence of God. I share how God first spoke to me directly and through His angels, and then through my dreams, and how God sent someone to me with a message from God.
Years later I discovered how to develop that two-way conversation with God, for myself and for others. I then began leading Listening to God meetings at our church, Christ Church Mount Pellon in Halifax.
It was through Listening to God, that God told me He was going to start healing people in our church.
This led to my leading healing services and becoming part of a team at Healing Rooms of Halifax.
Prior to this, I had prayed lots of times for people to be healed, but never witnessed any dramatic healings. Also, I didn’t know of anyone in the Church of England who was involved in the healing ministry (although I expect there must have been some, somewhere).
I don’t claim to be a healer, and I don’t usually pray on my own for someone, but pray with two or three others.
Some people get healed immediately, some require more prayer over a period of time, and others don’t get healed.
There are various reasons why someone may not get healed. But I do know that when it comes to healing from God in Jesus name, we are entering spiritual warfare, and in my book I have mentioned a couple of times about casting our demons!
This communication with God is open to every Christian who is living their life, learning how to love God with all their heart, mind, soul and strength, and to love one another as themselves.
And this communication with God, as well as the ministry of healing by the power of God in Jesus name. This forms part of the evidence for God and the meaning of our life on Earth, as we prepare for eternal life in Heaven.
